An Artful Affair: Exposing Trafficking Through Collective Creation (Villa Victoria Center for the Arts - Boston, MA)

The 2012 Film Forum will open with an evening entitled, “An Artful Affair: Exposing Trafficking Through Collective Creation.” Here, survivors of the commercial sex trade will be honored through several artistic avenues, including storytelling, dance, and canvas work. This interactive art space will be complimented by pieces created by both professional artists and at-risk youth. Following this opening night, 10 film screenings will explore commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking as a human rights violation and will be presented to audiences of approximately 250 people. Each film will be followed by a panel of experts, bringing together the academic and the activist, the public and the private, the political and the passionate.
