about cultureID

cultureID serves as a portal for cultural work that explores progressive political and social issues. Our multifaceted mission is to broadly disseminate information on socially important projects within the artistic/creative community, to offer a base for communication and collaboration between artists of varying media/geographic areas, and to broaden awareness and accessibility to vitally important issues of the 21st century.  Through these efforts, we look forward to a cross-pollination of actions between those creating cultural content and those working on the ground in the non-profit sector, thereby amplifying the investigation by membership into cultural and social issues concerns.
 
Artists, institutions, arts organizations, and non-profits are invited to become members. Upon becoming a member of cultureID,  a profile page is automatically created, allowing members to detail their personal work, institutional, or non-profit mission.  Each profile offers the opportunity to create threegalleries of work, which are accessible through the member's profile.  Membership also includes a blog to enable free discussion of individual and organizational cultural actions.  For informtion on blogs, please see the FAQ page.
 
Additionally, institutions and arts organizations are invited to post relevant events to our calendar, and blog about socially important material that you are featuring. For those in the non-profit arena, we hope that you will embrace the vital force residing within the cultural activist arena.  Artists are change agents. They have always been at the forefront of catalyzing new visions.
 
The objective of cultureID is to enable the growth of nuanced perspectives toward current issues—from global warming to identity politics—and to increase public awareness of those working in the creative fields addressing those issues.  Through joint activism with non-profits, we hope to serve as a platform of awareness for those expressing their concerns creatively.
